Recap
Nothing new today. Every fifth lesson is a recap: no new words, no new patterns — just a few minutes pulling back out what you've already met, so it sticks. If some of it has gone fuzzy, that's normal, and it's exactly what this lesson is for.
This one leans on Lessons 16–19 — people, giving and taking, please, and delight — but it also reaches back to the earlier ones, because old and new need to keep meeting. Say your answers out loud if you can; speaking beats reading.
1 · Quick-fire
Say each of these in Amatu before you peek — answers in Check yourself at the bottom.
- Give this
- Take this
- Please help me
- Thanks
- I'm so happy
- Wow!
2 · A tiny conversation
One person hands something over, the other receives it, and it goes well. Read it and make sure every line lands before you check the translation below:
—
sa dona ni. mi yuva tu.—dana! mi tika ni.—nalu! tu li pai nara.—mi oli — mi shan we tu.
3 · Read this
A few lines, all in words you know. Work out the meaning, then check yourself:
nara ni fia ta. sa dona ni.okei — mi tika ni. dana!mi sen tu. mi oli — mi shan we tu.
🎯 Pro tip
Notice how much of this is recombination — sa from one lesson, dona and tika from
another, mi shan we tu from earlier still. You're past the stage of single phrases now; the
real skill is clicking known pieces together on the fly. That's what these conversations
drill.
4 · Your turn
Out loud, or written if you have the means: give something, then react to the person receiving it — using only words you already know. A few pieces to draw on:
- Offer, politely →
sa dona ni/sa tika ni - Name a person →
nara/la - React with delight →
nalu!/mi oli - Thank them →
dana(or heartfeltmi pai to tu)
There's no answer key for this one — it's yours.

The tiny conversation:
— Please give this. I'll help you. — Thanks! I'll take this. — Wow! You're a good person. — I'm so happy — I'm glad to be with you.
Read this:
This person wants it. Please give this. Okay — I'll take this. Thanks! I know you. I'm so happy — I'm glad to be with you.
How did it land? Anything you blanked on, that's your cue — reopen that lesson and say the phrase out loud once or twice before moving on.
